“The discovery of antisemitic graffiti near the Wayland Community Pool on March 5, 2025, is a painful reminder that hate still finds its way into our community. This act of vandalism was meant to divide and intimidate, but we will not let it,” says Wayland Select Board Chair William Whitney. “Both Town and School leadership are deeply committed to ensuring that Wayland is a place where everyone feels they belong, and no one lives in fear because of who they are.”
To those directly affected and to anyone feeling shaken by this act of hate, please know you are not alone. In moments like these, our town comes together to support one another. But confronting hate isn’t only about how we respond today – it’s also about how we show up for one another every day.
All of us in Wayland – adults and children alike – have the power to strengthen the community by reaching out with kindness, especially to people who may feel different or alone. Small gestures of care reinforce the values that hold us together and make Wayland stronger.
