On Sunday, December 7, Wayland’s Historic Center will come alive with holiday festivities from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m., as the Wayland Museum & Historical Society, the Wayland Free Public Library, the Depot, and First Parish in Wayland present seasonal music and fun activities.
First Parish will host a “Community Holiday Singalong” at 4:30 p.m. Maddie Sifantus, former director of the Golden Tones, will lead the singing. The Sudbury Valley New Horizons Band, under the direction of Diane Muffitt, will accompany the singers. And Santa will make his annual appearance! All are welcome to sing, or enjoy hot cocoa and cookies after the event.
The Holiday Open House at the Wayland Museum & Historical Society will feature festive greenery by the Wayland Garden Club, “precious pets” themed crafts by Wayland Girl Scout troops, and musical entertainment provided by two Wayland H.S. groups. A reception of tea, punch, and homemade cookies will be served. Younger attendees can take part in a scavenger hunt. Visitors can tour the historic house; docents in each room will be able to point out collection features.
The Wayland Free Public Library, next door to the Wayland Museum & Historical Society, welcomes everyone to the Round Room to join local musician and joyful performer Stacey Peasley, at 3:00 p.m., for a festive holiday concert with the opportunity to sing along. Refreshments will be served courtesy of the Friends of the Wayland Library. Peasley is a music specialist, educator, and award-winning songwriter.
The Wayland Depot will be open from noon until 5:00 p.m. The Depot offers a unique selection of local crafts, pottery, jewelry, holiday items, and special gifts, as well as Booster apparel. It’s a great spot for holiday shopping!
