This Sunday, Sept 24, 10:00 a.m., “Practicing Cultural Humility”
Rev. Deborah Bennett
Cultural competency means being aware of your own cultural beliefs and values and how these may be different from other cultures. It means being able to learn about and honor the different cultures of those around you. While cultural competence is important there is more for us to embrace and practice to be truly welcoming. Today we explore the ideas of atonement taught by the Jewish community during this time of Rosh Hashanah and we go a step further in our cultural competence and begin the practice of cultural humility.
