June is a time of transition at First Parish, as we shift from regular Sunday services in the Sanctuary to more informal Sunday gatherings downstairs in the Vestry. This summer, we will also have a ministerial transition as we say a fond goodbye to Rev. Deborah Bennett, and welcome Rev. Lisa Perry-Wood who will serve as our minister for the coming year.

First Parish is in the middle of a two-year interim period between settled ministers. Rev. Stephanie May, who served First Parish for nine years, moved on in August 2023 to serve another congregation. Rev. Bennett has served First Parish since then. Beginning in August 2024, Rev. Perry-Wood will join us as minister for our second interim year. A First Parish search committee will spend the coming year identifying the best candidate for our next settled minister.

Meanwhile, as always, summer gatherings led by parishioners will be held on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. beginning June 23. These services give parishioners the opportunity to share their ideas, passions, and expertise on a wide range of topics. See this summer’s schedule here, and plan to join us on Sunday mornings.
