In “The Architecture of the Song,” an Arts Wayland Masterclass co-sponsored by First Parish, learn how songs come to life. During this two-hour class at First Parish, you’ll look at well-known types of songs like ballads and blues forms, as well as more unusual forms with quirky elements (like pre-choruses and more). Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter and guitarist Mark Erelli, known for his distinctive blend of rock, folk, and Americana, will lead the exploration of the art of songwriting. You’ll leave with a deeper appreciation of songwriting archetypes, and creative rules that you can follow (or break) to enhance your enjoyment of songs or even help you write your own!
