October 29 Annual “Shine A Light” Domestic Violence Vigil Moves This Year to Sudbury United Methodist Church
Please set aside this date: Tuesday evening, October 29 at 7 PM, at Sudbury’s United Methodist Church – just 10 minutes north of First Parish – on Rt 27.
After a number of years of marking Domestic Violence Awareness Month with an annual Candlelight Vigil here at First Parish in Wayland, the vigil is moving to Sudbury United Methodist Church (251 Old Sudbury Rd, Sudbury, MA 01776). Sponsored by the Sudbury-Wayland-Lincoln Domestic Violence Roundtable, the vigil will include clergy from several area congregations.
We hope you can travel the short distance (only 10 minutes north of First Parish in Wayland) to this moving event. It is an important public opportunity to honor this year’s victims of domestic violence, showing support to survivors who are on journeys to healing, and offering a call to action. First Parish in Wayland will also be lit in purple on that same night, as it has been for some years.
