First Parish is sharing its plate with one organization twice each month, or two social justice organizations once each. This ensures that everyone has the opportunity to generously support these vital community organizations and causes.
On Feb. 2, half the Sunday offering will be donated to OUT MetroWest, which builds communities where LGBTQ+ youth thrive. They currently run more than a dozen youth meetings per month out of their hub in Framingham, plus Satellite events around the MetroWest region. Each year, they directly serve more than 300 youth and engage hundreds of additional people of all ages through LGBTQ+ education sessions and community events.
On Feb. 9, half the Sunday offering will be donated to Metrowest Worker Center. The Center is an immigrant worker-led organization that organizes to defend and expand the labor, civil, and human rights of all workers. Work includes combatting wage theft and supporting the development of worker-owned cooperative businesses.
