First Parish is sharing its plate with one organization twice each month, or two similar organizations once each. This ensures that everyone has the opportunity to generously support these vital community organizations and causes.
On Jan. 5, half the Sunday offering will be donated to the Open Table Food Pantry in Maynard, Mass. Open Table’s mission is to end hunger in our local community by providing healthy food in ways that respect the dignity and diversity of those served. Open Table provides a welcoming community of support and assistance to families and individuals, including many seniors and children in Middlesex County.
On Jan. 19, half the Sunday offering will be donated to Metrowest Worker Center. The Center is an immigrant worker-led organization that organizes to defend and expand the labor, civil, and human rights of all workers. Work includes combatting wage theft and supporting the development of worker-owned cooperative businesses.
