For this Spring’s Music Sunday, April 14 during our 10:00 a.m. service, our choir, along with guest soloists and musicians, will present Gabriel Faure’s Requiem and Cantique de Jean Racine. The name Requiem may give you the impression that it’s a somewhat sad piece, but it is delightfully uplifting. Full of life-affirming melodies and real drama, this Requiem features two of the most ethereal sections in classical music, “Sanctus” and the aptly named “In Paradisum” that closes the piece.
And what about Cantique de Jean Racine? Cantique is a lovely, shorter piece. It offers a nice counterpoint to the more weighty Requiem, and it is presented in French.
We think you’ll find that this Music Sunday program is a special one. Please join us!
