JAZZ IN THE SANCTUARY: Jazz Guitar Wizard Sheryl Bailey Featured Sunday November 3rd, 3:00 p.m.
Settle into the Sanctuary as Arts Wayland, in association with First Parish in Wayland, presents jazz guitar ace Sheryl Bailey and the Sheryl Bailey Quartet, The popular Arts Wayland Berklee Faculty Jazz Series cruises into town Sunday, November 3rd at 3 pm under the leadership of Berklee College of Music’s own Neil Olmstead, for an afternoon of superb jazz guitar.
A highly respected, reliably swinging guitarist on the New York City jazz scene, Sheryl delivers an unequalled blend of abundant technique, rich chord voicings and long, flowing lines. She’s also Assistant Chair of the Guitar Department at Berklee. Described by Downbeat Magazine as “One of the new greats of her chosen instrument,” Sheryl is joined by pianist Rebecca Cline, another Berklee professor, drummer Neal Smith (also from Berklee), and bassist Harvie S, Professor of Jazz Bass and Jazz Ensemble at Manhattan School of Music.
