First Parish in Wayland is delighted to announce that the Rev. Lisa Perry-Wood will serve as our contract minister beginning in August, 2024. Rev. Lisa served as settled senior minister in Brookline for five years and comes to us most recently from First Unitarian Church in Worcester, Mass., where she serves as sabbatical minister. Rev. Lisa and her wife, Zoe, live in Lexington and have attended the Follen Church and First Parish in Lexington.

Rev. Lisa has had many professional careers over the years. With a Masters in Counseling Psychology, she has worked as a mental health administrator and therapist. In 1995, she founded a public charter school in Lynn, Mass. The Lynn Community Charter School opened in 1997, one of the first charter schools in Mass. After leaving the school, Lisa started a grant writing and fundraising business, offering consultation, teaching and training for schools and nonprofits in the Boston area. She entered seminary in Fall 2012 and graduated with her M.Div. in 2016.

Rev. Lisa has served several local congregations, as ministerial intern in Carlisle, summer minister in Lexington and Winchester, acting parish minister in Bedford, and settled senior minister at First Parish in Brookline from 2018-2023. She has also spent two years working as a hospice chaplain for All Care Home Care and Hospice and, most recently, has served as sabbatical minister at First Unitarian Church in Worcester.

First Parish looks forward to welcoming Rev. Perry-Wood when she joins us in August.
