“There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it is right.” ~ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
This coming April will mark the 58th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He lives on in his stirring prose and in his use of nonviolent protests to inspire change.
To honor his life, join the Unitarian Universalist Urban Ministry for a concert, “The Ties That Bind,” on Monday, Jan. 19 (4-6 p.m.) at the UUUM. It is located at John Eliot Square, 10 Putnam Street, Roxbury. The musical guest is Marshall Hughes, an accomplished musician who has worked on both sides of theater productions in Boston and abroad. He has served as a director at Roxbury Repertory Theater and has performed at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, among many other credits.
Seats are limited. Please RSVP here to get your tickets.
