This will be our eighth year working with REACH, an agency dedicated to the safety, healing, and empowerment of survivors of domestic violence. Over the past 32 years, REACH has helped more than 30,000 survivors of domestic violence through direct services and education. To learn more about their impressive work go to the REACH website.
This is our chance to bring a little holiday cheer into the lives of others who are in need. For many years, our First Parish community has enthusiastically participated in this project, and that generosity has been so very much appreciated. Let’s keep up the good work!
It is as simple as this: Take as many candy canes from the tree as you like and follow the instructions on the ornaments. You may select a gift for a child or for a mother — or both. REACH is particularly appreciative of our selecting mothers as that is a harder need to fill. If you have no time to shop, consider making a cash donation, or write a check to the Women’s Alliance and a volunteer will shop for you.
On Sunday, November 17, the tree will be up in the Vestry. Please take a candy cane, mark your name on the sign-out sheet, and return the unwrapped gift(s) by Sunday, December 8.
Thanks in advance for your continued participation. Undecorate the Tree Committee: Pat Sims (chair), Karen Baker, Lois Doerr, Gina Greco, Peggy Holland, Marney Ives, Kathleen Lang, Suzanne Reitz, and Rachel Sideman-Kurtz.
