A famous UU saying posits: “we need not think alike to love alike.” And for the most part we as UUs kind of accept that idea…. to a degree. But are there limits? What if we really do not think alike? So many of us have unwritten rules with relatives or friends to not talk about politics or religion. But perhaps these are precisely the things we should be talking about. Today we explore the idea of “hard conversations.” Whether with others with whom we share some sense of resonance or with others who are way across the political or religious belief spectrum, being able to converse is vital.
