Come Celebrate Earth Day 2022 with a picnic on the lawn!
Friday, April 22, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., First Parish Lawn
Now more than ever, taking time to pause and reflect on why taking care of our environment is important not only to ourselves but for generations to come after us, is vital for our own spiritual care as well as our sense of justice. Environmental issues impact people from all walks of life, but they can have greatest impact on people often living on the margins. As a result, many of the members of First Parish in Wayland work year round on environmental justice issues as well as devoting their time to the beautification of Wayland and the surrounding areas.
We think their work deserves celebrating, as does Earth Day in general.
Therefore, we hope you will join Kate Holland and Alyssa Lee for an Earth Day picnic. The kids are out on April Break so what better way to end the week than by celebrating Earth Day together on the lawn of First Parish?
We will have Earth Day-related games as well as opportunities for both the young and young at heart to do some planting and just generally run around and have fun being together.
Please bring a blanket or some chairs and a lunch of your choice. Everyone is welcome to attend so please join us if you are free on that day, and feel free to bring any grandkids or other children in your life.
The festivities will begin at 11:30 but it is an informal come-and-go event. We hope to see you there!
