CAROL SING RETURNS
December 6, 4:30 p.m.

For many, singing Christmas Carols is a highlight of the season. As part of the Wayland Town Center Open House, it has been our pleasure at First Parish to invite the community to the lawn of our historic Meetinghouse to sing together each year. This year we continue the tradition while moving the event online. To participate, please register online at www.uuwayland.org/2020-carol-sing.

From the boisterous “Deck the Halls” to the reflective “Silent Night”, singing familiar tunes of the holidays can evoke many happy memories. While we may not get to every carol, we plan to sing many of the favorites—ending with “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.” We’ve even invited Santa to join in our Zoom meeting!

Singing will be led by the Rev. Maddie Sifantus. For many years, Rev. Maddie was the Affiliate Minister at First Parish. You may know her as the founding Director of the Golden Tones, Wayland’s renowned chorus. While Rev. Maddie now serves a congregation in Santa Paula, CA, she has continued to lead the Carol Sing in person in recent years and returns this year from California. She will be joined by Vincent Sorisio on piano. Maddie and Vincent will provide the music while participants sing along. Alas, since Zoom does not sync up voices across the Internet, participants will remain muted on screen. Nonetheless, the joyful faces of singers will bring us together as we follow Rev. Maddie’s leadership.

Grab some cocoa and cookies and join us online for this happy event. Please don’t forget to register to receive the Zoom log-in.
